The daily chronicle of my family as we embark on our quest to relocate from New York to Cairo... the impending journey to get there and the daily lives of myself, my husband and our four children... and other random thoughts while living in Cairo!

Looking to make contact with other Muslimahs who are like myself with small children living or will be living in a foreign country.

I invite you to share the experience with us as we try to make this happen!

This evening I met a sweet sister, MashaAllah.....

I had the pleasure of finally meeting my sweet sister, Molly from over at " The Sandbox Confessions of a Multicultural Muslimah" ( to check out her blog, click here). She such a sweet, warm Muslimah.... we chatted, ordered dinner (whose cooking in this heat???) and had a great time!

It's a blessing to be able to see a sister and warm up to one other like you known each other for years... you can't get that with alot of people but you can experience it with a down-to-earth person which I found her to be! We went from sitting on the couch to lounging in the bedrooms... how's that for just meeting someone? When it's real, ya know it! (smooches)

I'm grateful to have met her and hope we link up often.... I love you, my sista!

I felt instantly at home as soon as I walked through the door so it was like I'd already known you. Warm-hearted people draw warm-hearted people and I truly loved being near you. Let me know if you need me to come help with those kids, I'm here whenever you need me. Love ya too and can't wait to hang out again.

Yes, please do come! I'm trying to finish cleaning up the house so I can head down your way... to take the kiddies to the beach- it's been one obstacle after the next... InshaAllah, getting there! And this has to happen VERY soon as I won't be able to travel far before I know it and the hubby's coming!!!!!!! Woooooo Hoooooo! Can we say serious DOWN TIME??? :-)

Anisa, don't come while I'm away! I'm supposed to go to Alex to meet my sister around the 20th for a week tops. If I spend any extra time in Cairo on the way and I can, I'll try to meet up!

Mona- well, I plan to go to Giza this weekend to take the kids to a art/crafts/amusement park place and then InshaAllah, the following weekend we'll be heading that way... gotta get all in before I can't travel and the hubby gets here... I'll call you to find out your details

Hijabi- You're more than welcome! InshaAllah, we'll be here and always have room for one more!!! :)

Hey, I am glad that you have found some good friends over there.

How are you feeling, how are your little ones doing? Do they miss NY?

How hot is it there now?

Empress Anisa said...

Desert- yeah, the sisters are a blessing here, MashaAllah.... as for me, swelling bigger and bigger by the seconds here (lol) but most days now, Alhumdulillah, I'm feeling pretty decent. Little ones are settled in, Alhumdulillah, and the only one who on certain days wanna go home to "their other house" is my baby girl.... but in time, InshaAllah, I hope the feeling passes.

Today, when I checked it was 99 degrees- I don't know how high it went though... when you coming? :)

Alhamdulillah! Things are going on really well for you! ^^

Hajar- yes, Alhumdulillah! Despite all the other little things, meeting sisters here have been a HUGE blessing, MashaAllah! Hey, when are you coming??? Trying to get as many sisters here as possible!!! ;)

We should be there 3/2010. I told my hubby one of my sisters from blogger and the traveling hijab was in Cairo and he wanted me to ask you 3 million questions lol! Insha Allah I will send you an email for a little info if you do mind.

LoL~ Hold your horses sister! I doubt I'll be coming anytime sooner. Aih~ So many places to go ... so many sisters to visit ... so many tupper parties to attend ... :P I'll let you know when I'm coming. ^^

Hijabi- sounds like a plan... of course, I will answer any questions you may have as this place IS different so the both of you will know EXACTLY what you're getting into.... I'm glad I travelled here several times before leaping or I know with all I've faced since I've been here, I would've packed my bags to go back home!

Hajar- "...so many tupperware parties to attend..."- lol- haven't been to one of those IN YEARS!!! Hey, even if you come for a short visit, not to stay (this ain't the staying kinda place really- study? Yes, then scram big time!) it would be nice! My invite is always open.... smooches
